The always-on supply chain

How agentic AI, interoperable networks, and continuous planning are replacing calendar-driven operations with real-time supply intelligence

The supply chains that win in 2026 won’t be the most efficient, they’ll be the ones that never stop sensing, deciding, and adapting. This roundtable examines how agentic AI, real-time planning, and interoperable architectures are replacing monthly S&OP cycles with continuous supply intelligence, and what it takes to get there.

Why this conversation matters

Supply chains are under siege. Tariff whiplash, geopolitical fragmentation, and compressed product cycles have exposed a hard truth: most enterprises are still running linear, siloed supply chains in a world that demands networked, adaptive ones. HFS research shows that over 80% of enterprises have had to reassess or delay their GenAI programs in the past 12 months, not because the technology failed, but because their data, processes, and operating models weren’t ready.

Yet the opportunity is enormous. Nearly 85% of enterprises believe GenAI will play a crucial role in their supply chain strategies by 2030. Agentic AI is making the elusive interoperability dream a reality, i.e., autonomous agents that can sense disruptions, rebalance inventory, reroute shipments, and renegotiate with suppliers in near real-time. The question is no longer whether to adopt, but how to build the always-on supply chain that turns volatility from a threat into a competitive advantage.

This executive roundtable brings together a select group of senior supply chain and operations leaders to discuss the shift from reactive, calendar-driven planning to continuous, AI-powered supply networks. HFS will open with research provocation drawn from our latest demand-side data and provider assessments, before moderating a candid, off-the-record discussion on the most urgent challenges leaders face today.

This executive roundtable will explore:

  • Why most AI pilots stall at the supply chain’s edge and what front-runners are doing differently to scale from proof-of-concept to production.
  • How agentic AI is reshaping planning, procurement, logistics, and order management with real-world architectures and decision frameworks.
  • What interoperable supply networks actually look like and the data, process, and organizational prerequisites to build them.
  • Where the biggest ROI opportunities exist across the supply chain value chain, from real-time demand sensing to autonomous order orchestration.
  • How to build the business case for supply chain transformation in a climate of tariff volatility, tightening budgets, and board-level scrutiny.
